I was in the local flower shop recently looking for my next subject when I noticed a bucket of fresh Irises up on the near by shelf. An few times a year I like to break out and do a nice watercolor painting of flowers. Although my preference is painting Landscapes, Seascapes, and Wildlife subjects perhaps it's the many years I've spent studying the art of well known artist Charles Reid that inspires me! In any case, I struck up a conversation with several of the customers when they found out I'm an artist. As it turns out one of the ladies works at the near by Enhanced Senior Living Center which is also on the fall Art Walk Lancaster this year. Every year in the spring and fall there's an art walk in our city which many people like to get out to look and also maybe buy some local art. I think It's fun to meet artists and learn more about the things that inspire our work. So if your in Lancaster, Pennsylvania early the first weekend in October please feel free to attend Art Walk Lancaster! The Event time and date is listed on my website. www.donwhitesel.com
