Hibiscus

This was the first floral watercolor painting that I did twenty five or thirty years ago. I painted it in my mentor David Lenker's watercolor class up in Harrisburg PA. Dave happened to be an old family friend of our's and also knew Andrew Wyeth as well. After it was done I showed to my Uncle Andy Moore who was a well known local artist from Tyrone, PA. My Uncle was stunned and delighted to see me do a watercolor painting that good.  The nice comments meant an lot to me of course since he was my mentor. Recently I've added some darker highlight's and signed it better. I'll be doing more floral watercolor paintings and who knows maybe I'll also tackle some still life's as well.
