Notre Dame means Our Lady in French which I think is pretty cool! I love painting European buildings because of the old look they have. The beautiful green countryside especially places covered with ivy are fascinating and lot's of fun to paint. When I first heard of the fire at the Cathedral I was shocked like everyone else and felt sad. Every time I turned on the TV or Laptop there was photos of the fire and destruction of this great religious Cathedral so I decided to do a painting of it. It took a lot of research then two days for me to do this painting. My hope is that it will help remind people of the beautiful place we love and need to rebuild. Over 13 million people year visit Notre Dame Cathedral in France and it feels like a safe home for them to go to. You might notice that I left a very small white spot at the tip of the spire on purpose where there is a Dove. It was placed there many, many years ago and at the time three objects where placed in it to help protect the people of the Cathedral. I would like my painting to give feeling or an artistic point of view to this great religious place and hope you like it.
