This watercolor painting started out as a piece that I was just playing and wanted to paint pine trees. I was tired of painting pretty fall deciduous trees and wanted to just cut loose so this is the result of my palette play! Ultimately once I realized I had a great looking landscape it needed something to bring it to life. Adding the gentle giant of the northern wilderness to make it pop made sense. It took some sketching and then a lay out to figure out where to put my subject but, I like it a lot and hope you do as well.
