What's new and happening in my studio!

Autumn Delight
I need to borrow a phrase or actually the title from my last blog and say that it's been a while! So what's new and happening in my studio? My wife and I actually took a long overdue and much-needed vacation up on the beautiful coast of Maine. We went the end of August to the first week of September and it's a great time of year to go up the coast. While on vacation I sold two of my watercolor paintings in the Boothbay Region Art Foundation. The first painting that sold was a painting of a lighthouse I did a few years ago. It sold to a couple celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary. It made me feel really good knowing that the local couple made a painting I did a special gift to commemorate such an important time. My second watercolor painting that sold was to a Pennsylvania couple. I don't know much about the PA couple except that they returned a day later after they had been to the gallery and decided to buy the painting. So if either of those couples that bought those two paintings happen to be reading my blog I would like to say thank you to them! Once we got back home and settled I also learned of some other good news! My painting titled "Catch and release" is going to be used on the cover of Mid-Atlantic fly fishing guide the month of December. I'm a big long time fan of Sporting art and wildlife art and have every intention of pursuing more subjects in my paintings in the coming months and year. As a young man growing up I remember my Grandfather would take me to the news stand to buy his paper on Sunday. I would use that special time to look at a the colorful sporting of my favorite artists and it made a big impression on me! When most young people grow up they dream of playing sports like football or baseball but, not me. I wanted to be and artist and it's taken years of work. It's the learning and finding new an colorful subjects to paint that's a blast! So as we go into the fall months I hope everyone takes the time to enjoy themselves and the Beautiful colors.
