There's something special about this time of year the days start to get cooler and the fall colors start to come out. You get to enjoy that extra cup of coffee or tea or perhaps enjoy a drive in the countryside. Sometimes you might happen to spot some deer feeding on the corn field. Football season is also getting started and the college and pro teams have their fall schedules lined up. It's fun to spend family time watching a good game too. It's been a while since I did a colorful Fall Foliage painting of a barn so I decided it was time for a new piece. I wanted to do this painting because it similar composition to a painting I did titled That Down Home Feeling. The companion painting that's a winter scene also has a Americana feel to it. I think It's fun to do a theme or kind of a little series on a subject and explore the different angles and Views. Perhaps change the time of year and give it a different story. The longer I'm in watercolor the more I enjoy doing a painting and telling a story. I want to take the viewer somewhere nice and give them a special feeling. There's so many things going on in the world nowadays that I think the Arts give us the opportunity to take a break, collect our thoughts, and maybe clear our minds. So I hope you'll join me as I paint new subjects and tell more new stories. Please feel free to sign up for the newsletter. Oh and good luck to your favorite collage or pro football team! www.donwhitesel.com
