Tulips

My watercolor painting titled Tulips is a 12 x 16 image on Arches watercolour paper. Every year my neighbor has pretty red Tulips come up in her yard. Watching the Tulips they seemed to have a rhythm especially on a breeze day. Close to home there's another house that has a whole variety of Tulip colours planted. So my plans for this painting was to do an assortment of Tulip colors rather than just all red. It also occurred to me that doing some abstract composition would work to my benefit as well with this painting. I'm pleased with my latest creation and think it turned out quite well. I consider this painting to be an impressionistic, abstract, vignette. It was a lot of fun to paint and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
