The Kuerner Farmhouse
While having a cup of coffee yesterday morning I realized that it's been quite some time since I wrote a new blog or sent out any letter. So I felt that it's time to change that. About a month ago I had carpal tunnel surgery done on my right wrist. I've been recuperating from the surgery and getting back to work. Although I'm left-handed (a southpaw) it was my right wrist and hand that was in a lot of pain. Later this year I'm looking forward to getting my left wrist fixed until then I want to get back to work in the studio. Pictured above is my watercolor painting titled Kirk's Barn 2 which is in southern Lancaster County, PA. Artists are shape makers as my mentor and friend Tony Couch has said many times. It's common or me to take artistic license with subjects and make changes I find helpful to make the composition more dramatic. Pictured is the actual barn that was the subject of several paintings. Other subjects I plan to paint range from The Kuerner Farm in Chadds Ford, George Washington's headquarters and other buildings in Valley Forge to the Historic train station in Glenn Mills, To the Conestoga House in Lancaster PA as well as Farms through-out Lancaster county PA. So please stay tuned and keep an eye on my website and Studio page on Facebook. I want to mention that I appreciate all the support and very kind comments and support!
