The kiss of death sounds like something from a horror movie or story line or that type! Believe it or not It's actually a term used by artists to describe a painting being reworked! The reason we use that term is because reworking a watercolor painting can be a real gamble or the kiss of death. Sometimes a painting feels like it needs more or perhap it needs changed. There're have been times when I look at my photo of the painting and there's an area that just stands out and I want to change it. It's nice to be able to fix or change something in a watercolor painting and it can be a fantastic reward or a big disaster!

My watercolor painting titled Irises was painted late last year but, had a design flaw that really bothered me all that time. So I decided that I wented to back in and fixed it. Once I got started I painted with no abandon had lots of fun doing it too. I think the end result worked out quite well. The painting measures 18 x 24 un-framed and once it's double matted and framed it should hopefully be an outstanding painting. That's the magic of watercolor painting!
